    @TheWho58 i hated public school education. right now i am really enjoying college i am enrolled in one of the best colleges in my province and i am also volunteering with the police. stay strong

    @CovertOPSDragunov I know, the teachers give up on you, put you down, then they exempt you from all that important stuff like math, science, and writing classes( whatever those classes are called) etc,whats the point of going to school if they won’t teach you this stuff?? I started doing math and counting money in grade 10 yes its sad.

    @Rogerrumjet Yes, you’re actually right. The definition of a learning disability actually overlaps many features of a mild intellectual disability (M.I.D), you could even argue that they are indeed the same but unfortunately parents find an M.R diagnosis devastating so they welcome the L.D label instead because they believe it will give their child a better prognosis, but of course it won’t. In my opinion what they refer to as a learning disability is just high functioning retardation.

    having a learning disability ruined my education what really betrayed me was the system and teachers saying i was incapable now i m big screw up but i still have high dreams of being a cop i already had a few jobs but i don’t like thinking about it no kid does i have seen kids with such low self esteem all because of a learning disability they think their uncapable of doing anything and the teachers make them think like that

    @Rogerrumjet Actually, you’re sadly mistaken. There are rigorous diagnostic and psychological tests that children have to take before they are officially recorded as having a learning disability. And most of the tests are designed for the subject or subjects that the child is struggling with. How do I know this? I was diagnosed with a math learning disability in fourth grade. You know what else? I have all A’s in everything besides math. Maybe you’re the one who isn’t all that bright.

    I think a lot of kids have been characterized as having a “learning disability” because the parents can’t face up to the fact that their kid simply isn’t all that bright.

    I have Bipolar , Hep C , Diabetes , I have to live on $655.00 a month , the rules say I can never have over $2000.00 in a given month , no Death Insurance , No Grave Plot – How can a person on SSI even Try to Save for their future ? – every month costs $1100.00 to live & my Disabled parents who get less than me have to help me make ends meet , there is no section 8 here – I wish I could go back to work , but I,m too sick , there is no Help ! : ( QC

    Applying for SSD is a long and tiresome process. Having a lawyer can be a big help depending on cost. Places like this are not necessarily scams, and can even have some good info.

    @Viking – your county should have info to help. Worth a call. Been disabled 20 yrs. Was born w/out any hip on the left, and in the 50’s, there were no implants! I hear what u r saying :)

    I’v been searching for a job for awhile now and I feel discriminated against due to the fact that I have one leg :/ People think I can’t do the work :( Iv applied for disability and Im now just waiting to hear back from them. I heard they can help me get a job :)

    For a sign up fee, you can find everything you need to know about disability benefits for free!!! LOL!!!!
    You can make a few internet searches and make a few calls and find out everything you need to know yourself.
